About Me

I was born in Aurora, Colorado and moved to St. George, Utah with my family when I was 11 years old. Currently, I live in Cedar City, Utah as a student attending Southern Utah University. I'm studying Interdisciplinary Studies with focuses in Communications, Political Science, and Spanish. 

 

During my teen years I participated on my high school track and cross country teams. Also, at the time, I was part of a small band. We called ourselves Hybrid Nation.

While we may have all gone our separate ways, I still consider myself an avid fan of alternative and indie music. I've spent innumerable amounts of time scrolling through critic reviews, artist highlights, and discovering some new tunes. Since these things were so important to me in my journey in discovering more music, I thought I might do the same for others. This is why I have created Alt Yak, a blog for all alternative music lovers to listen to some insights and learn more about the never-ending world of Alternative music.
